United Way: Dollars for Denim Wrap Up
Kankakee, IL – United Way of
Kankakee
County
would like to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who participated in the Dollars for Denim campaign. This year
United Way has seen quite the impact that members of this community made by simply wearing jeans. Thank You!
For those that are reading this for the first time, Dollars for Denim is a campaign designed to raise money for United Way by asking employers to allow their employees to wear jeans to work. If you already wear jeans to work, that is not a problem. Many businesses supported the United Way through this campaign despite the fact they already wear jeans everyday.
United Way hosts Dollars for Denim twice a year. Be attentive to local newspapers and radio announcement for the next Dollars for Denim day. United Way of Kankakee County has set a goal of $4,400 with this event between the two dates. Dollars for Denim money will be applied to the $1,000,250 campaign goal set by the Board of Directors.
Companies that have corporate policies prohibiting employees from wearing jeans, or those companies that already wear jeans to work, are encouraged to find other, creative ways to raise funds. If you need suggestions on what to do, please call the United Way office.
Greg Carrell, Executive Director of United Way of Kankakee County, commented, “This event provides fun for employees while bringing awareness to the community of the United Way annual campaign. The money raised through this effort will benefit the 24 agencies that are supported by the United Way of
Kankakee
County
.”
