UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF

The

United Way
of Kankakee County would like to thank the community for their terrific support of the 2010 Campaign Kick-Off. Special thanks goes to all who attended the Montgomery Gentry concert, the many volunteers, sponsors, partner agencies, concert producer, Hidden Cove Sportsplex, Jason and the Haymakers, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry and their band. United Way is pleased to have brought this level of entertainment to the area.

United Way also thanks the community for all of its feedback since the concert. There are some great suggestions for improvements. Over the next few weeks, we will meet with each of the concert’s partners to review the concerns, feedback and suggestions.

We greatly appreciate all of our donors who continually show they are dedicated and generous people. United Way’s annual donation campaign will remain the cornerstone of how we fund 46 programs within our 24 partner agencies. However, those programs and agencies are being strained and we recognize the need to develop creative and innovative ways to increase awareness and reach the 2010 campaign goal of $1,100,000. As long as there are needs in Kankakee County ,

United Way
is committed to meeting the challenge.

- Welcome New and Returning Board Members!

At the Annual Dinner on March 26th, fourteen new board memebers were introduced into the United Way family.  We are excited to have new faces around the table to add to the work that United Way does.

We wanted to extend a thank you to retiring board members.  Each one is already missed!  Thank you to Toby Olszewski, Pam Dunlap, Brian Rogers, David G. West and Phil Kambic; each one of you touched United Way and helped create a better organization.

United Way of Kankakee County is a volunteer driven organization.  If you would like to get involved, please contact the United Way office.
