United Way: Campaign Chairs Announced for 2010
United Way of Kankakee County is pleased to announce that Michael and Debbie Arno, of Bourbonnais, are the Co-Chairs for the upcoming 2010 Campaign. The Campaign will officially kick off on September 11th along with the 12th Annual Betty Bridgewater Ladies Day for United Way Golf Outing at the Kankakee Elks Country Club.
The Arno’s and the Board of Directors for the United Way of Kankakee County have set a goal for this year’s campaign of $1,200,000.00! “This is an aggressive goal, one based not on what we know we can raise; but, on what our community needs” explained the Arno’s. “We have the greatest demand in our lives to help the highest number of people ever and we must answer that demand.”
The Arno’s are relatively new to this area (relocating to Bourbonnais two years ago) when Michael became Provena St. Mary’s Chief Operating Officer in February, 2007. Since that time Michael has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer and has made many positive gains within the organization. Michael and Debbie are proven leaders in every community they have lived in and continue to build a better world around them. This is one of the reasons why the Arno’s were a natural choice for this year’s Campaign Co-Chairs.
Michael a native of Philadelphia, PA has built a very extensive resume within the field of healthcare spanning over the past 20 years and in several states including PA, GA, CO, FL and IL. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Franklin and Marshall College and his MBA and MHA from the University of Colorado in Denver Colorado. Debbie is a native of Louisville, KY and earned her Bachelors of Arts at Georgia State University. She resides on the Board of Directors for Maternity BVM and Kankakee Valley Montessori School. Michael and Debbie have been married since 1992 and have five children.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to work closely with Michael and Debbie Arno this year to deliver our best campaign yet,” said Greg Carrell, Executive Director of the United Way. “This year we need everyone to think about giving a little bit to help our friends, neighbors and family.”
The United Way is driven by our local volunteers, whom make all decisions involving funding to our 24 United Way Partner Agencies around our community. The process is absolutely a community effort that allows local dollars to support local needs right here at home.
