United Way is the bedrock of benevolence in our community. Last year, donors throughout Kankakee County contributed $946,000, a 12% increase year to year and highest in the state of Illinois, to support 44 health and human service programs provided by our 24 member agencies. Impressive as those numbers are, what matters most is that the lives of more than 65,000 local residents are positively impacted by those programs each year.
