Board Spotlight: Jasmyne Humble

Jasmyne HumbleIn what ways have you been involved with United Way?

Growing up in the community, I attended a few events hosted by United Way. I also volunteered with United Way before I joined their Board of Directors.

What inspired you to become involved with United Way?

I became interested in serving on the Board of Directors due to my passion for community service. United Way's mission is deeply rooted, yet also very inspiring. I enjoy giving back, informing others, and sharing additional resources. The more our communities can come together, especially during this time while in a global pandemic, the better.

What aspect of United Way's work do you connect with most?

Considering United Way is the world's largest nonprofit organization, you would not be able to tell the difference at a community event because it is the people of United Way that make it feel like family. That always stuck with me. I admire the long-lasting impact United Way is making in every day lives. It's something we can all be a part of.

Why do you think it's important to support United Way's mission?

I firmly believe being inclusive of all people from all walks of life will serve our communities better. This means taking the time to be involved. It's so easy to get lost in a digital world, especially on social media in the times we are in now, but there is still so much value in real-life connections.
