Board Spotlight: Kris Harms

How long and in what ways have you been involved with United Way?

I've been a workplace champion for United Way for 16 years now. I've spent six years on the Board of Directors for United Way and also serve as a Women United committee member

What aspect of United Way's work excites and inspires you?

I like to see the impact United Way makes on our community. I also enjoy the work we do on the Women United Committee and getting to see firsthand how we can impact the young women in our counties.

What inspired you to become involved with United Way?

I was inspired by my experience as a teen mom. I used programs in Duluth, MN that were funded by United Way. Without these programs when I had my son, I would not be where I am today. Now because of the help of these programs, I have the ability to give back. This is my way of saying thank you and hopefully helping other individuals as I was helped.
