BOARD SPOTLIGHT: MIKE O'Brien

Mike O'BrienIn what ways have you been involved with United Way?

I've been on the United Way Board of Directors since 2016. During that time I have also served as a co-chair of the annual fundraising campaign with Scott Goselin. I currently serve as Chair of the Board, allowing me the opportunity to work very closely with our talented and passionate staff and dedicated Board members and volunteers.

What inspired you to become involved with United Way?

I believe in the mission of United Way in general and I was also inspired by the vision for our Strong Neighborhoods efforts.

What aspect of United Way's work do you connect with most?

United Way's place-based work is most important to me.  Again, the Strong Neighborhoods model is the best example of this focus.

Why do you think it's important to support United Way's mission?

So many people in our community rely on the work by United Way and its partner agencies.  By supporting United Way we support our friends, neighbors, and fellow community residents.
