This page is being updated to reflect a list of resources that have been in high demand following March's tornado.

Emergency Response Fund in Action

Support from our Emergency Response Fund is already making a difference. Thanks to the generosity of our community, $150,000 has been granted to KCCSI – Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. to provide immediate assistance to those impacted by the March 10 storm. This includes short-term housing support for displaced families, rent and mortgage assistance, and auto repair help for vehicles with damage beyond insurance coverage.

This fund is a collaborative effort between United Way and the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley, designed to respond quickly and help individuals and families take the next steps toward stability. Additional support is on the way, and we are continuing to partner with local nonprofits to address ongoing recovery needs. For more information, please contact our office at (815) 932-7476.

Aroma Park Methodist Church  | 201 W. 3rd St., Aroma Park​

  • 10 AM - 6 PM - Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturdays

  • For other times, please contact to arrange an appointment.

  • Accepting: Bedding sets (comforters & sheets), Rakes & Brooms, Cleaning Supplies, and Bathroom paper products. Providing a compassionate listening ear, along with supportive care, light refreshments, and a comfortable space to rest and recharge.

  • Volunteers needed to assist with distribution and sorting of incoming items

  • 10 AM - 4 PM - Monday, Wednesday, & Friday  

  • Can also make an appointment Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Accepting: Repair and Cleanup items, Nonperishable food items, Can openers, Protein Bars, Juice, Gatorade, Lysol wipes, Bleach, Paper towels, Toliet paper, Heavy duty extension cords, Coolers, Charcoal, Kids snack, microwave meals*

  • Volunteers needed to assist with distribution and sorting of incoming items

  • Accepting: Diapers, Pull ups, Wipes, Dish soap, Toddler meals, Baby bottles, Sippy cups, Batteries, New blankets, Feminine hygiene items, Shampoo and Conditioner, Body wash, Towels, Pillows, New sheets*

  • Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM ​​​​​​​​​​
